Happy 8th B-day, David!

Today we celebrated David Lee Cochran's 8th Birthday!  The fun began with a special gift from David's BIG BRO, Matthew, who had schemed a way to obtain a gift for David while Mommy went to Walgreens to pick up some more saline for the FLUID little noses around here...

Matthew knew JUST what to get David--the Transformer, Swerve, whom he knew David had seen at Walgreens in the past and "really liked and wanted it".  So, he gave Mommy $10.00 (plus $1.00 in quarters "for the tax," he said).  Mommy did the purchasing.  Matthew did the wrapping.  EXCEPTION: My services were requested for tying the bow around the package.

The next special event was a lunch guest...DADDY came home for lunch.  We had Mommy's homemade pizza and a nice, spinach salad.  OF COURSE we had CAKE (a la mode...actually SAMPLER a la mode b/c Mommy wanted to vary the Calcium sources for the fam...Does that count?)

David's B-day gift from us this year was a REAL sleeping bag...a down MUMMY bag (He REALLY liked that name and asked, "Is that what is is really called?") so he can join us for his first backcountry backpacking trip this summer 2010, Lord willing.  As you can see in the photo, David is also displaying Swerve, his special Transformer from Matthew.

The LAST event of the day was dinner (on paper plates) dishes duty tonight...and a movie.  We gathered in the living room as a family, sleeping bags (I mean MUMMY bags) and all, for a flick.  As usual, when I stopped...well, I I got a nice nap with a cuddle bug sleeping on me, too.  The boys hit the hay at 10:00 PM.  The principal is NOT canceling school tomorrow though!  :)  She may let the students sleep in until 7:45 AM, however.

Goodnight.  We'll pick up with D is for Diligent next time!
